|Shinrin Yoku – Guided Nature Walk||July 20, 2018||July 20, 2018||Teaching Trail- 10:00AM-11:00AM||
Why is spending time in nature so important? Shinrin Yoku or “forest bathing” aims to reconnect us to nature by engaging and becoming aware of all of the senses. It is recognized as a form of therapy, as well as preventative medicine, and is a great way to feel good in the mind, body, and spirit. This simple, but effective nature-based activity is not only beneficial to physical health, but mental and emotional well-being as well. Through a guided meditation, trail walk, and debrief, we will begin to explore how spending time in nature helps to create a better understanding of a healthy body, environment, and community. This event is in celebration of Healthy Parks Healthy People.
