Fire Bans

There is a fire ban Effective 30 June 2021, a Restricted Fire Zone is in place. Campfires are not permitted.

If you need heat for cooking or warmth in a Restricted Fire Zone, you can only use:
• a portable liquid fuel or gas stove (for example, barbeque or camp stove), that can be turned off easily by closing a shut-off valve or lid
• the stove must be at least one metre away from any flammable material

Park Advisories

1 Some rentals operations may be available at the park. Please check with the park directly to see what is available before visiting.
2 Beginning on July 12, 2021: There is a closure area in the southwestern portion of Quetico’s backcountry due to wildfires. No camping or travel is permitted in the closure area. Park Rangers will provide backcountry campers with up to date information upon registration at the park. You can also call Quetico’s park information line at 807-597-2735 for more information about current conditions.
