Alert ⚠️ Notice: French River Provincial Park Closures

Beginning April 26th until further notice, due to unseasonably high-water levels and Flood Warnings Issued for Lake Nipissing, French River, Sturgeon River, and Wanapitei River by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, the following sections of French River Provincial Park have been deemed unsafe for navigation and are closed to all park users:

1) The Main French River Channel directly up-stream and downstream of the Chaudière Dam including campsites 300 – 303. Please map 2 for details.

2) Up-stream of Commanda Island to downstream of the Little Parisian Rapids including campsites 325 - 327 & 400 – 413.Please see map 2 for details.

3) The Main French River Channel from the French River Supply Post to the waters of Ox Bay including campsites 521 – 525. Please see map 3 for more details.

4) The Main French River Channel West of The Elbow to down-stream of the Dallas Rapids including campsites 624 – 627 & 710 – 712. Please see map 4 for more details.

5) The French River Western Outlet downstream of campsite 709 to up-stream of campsite 805 including campsites 729 – 731 & 800 – 805. Please see map 4 for more details.

6) The Wanapitei River West of Hartley Bay to the Sturgeon Chutes including campsites 603 -605. Please see map 4 for more details.

These closures are for the safety of all park users and are issued by the Park Superintendent under the authority of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act.
