Welcome to the online cottagers toolkit for Rondeau Provincial Park Cottage Lots. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has been undertaking the processes required to consider allowing cottages to remain in Rondeau Provincial Park until December 31, 2038. A decision on this proposal has not yet been made. A number of steps still need to be completed prior to making this decision including Indigenous engagement, development of a final policy and an amendment to the Rondeau Provincial Park Management Plan.
In order to allow cottagers to continue to occupy their cottage lots while these processes are completed, an amendment was made to Ontario Regulation 347/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006, to allow MNRF to extend the term of leases for an additional two years up to December 31, 2019. The extension was provided using a Lease Extension Agreement. This extension did not change the terms of existing leases including rent and service fees with the exception of the addition of a new condition related to sewage inspections.
