Learn to Camp

Overnight Camping Experience

Try camping for the first time in a safe and fun environment

No experience? No problem! Join Ontario Parks leaders and fellow new campers on an overnight camping trip. As you spend your first night in one of our beautiful provincial parks, your group will have an opportunity to set-up camp, cook meals on a camp stove, light a campfire and enjoy fun recreational activities.

What we provide:

  • A detailed information package in advance of your visit
  • All the equipment required to camp (participants are responsible for food, bedding and personal items)
  • A campsite for up to 6 participants, including children
  • Scheduled learning sessions and family-friendly activities led by experienced staff
  • Access to flush toilets, hot showers and safe drinking water
  • One bag of ice and firewood
  • Campfire treats
  • Parking for one vehicle at the campsite
  • Recreation time to enjoy the park facilities

Duration:

  • Learn to Camp participants choose between a one or two night experience. We recommend the two night experience because it allows for more free time to enjoy the park facilities and practice your new camping skills. Campsite checkout out time is 2:00pm on the final day, but participants may enjoy the park facilities until 10:00pm
