Kawartha Highlands is one of Ontario’s newest provincial parks and offers exceptional backcountry canoeing opportunities in close proximity to some of the province’s largest communities. Pristine lakes, rocky ridges, mature forests, and beautiful scenery make for a memorable backcountry experience. Located on the southern edge of the Canadian Shield, the park is home to a variety of unique wildlife and ecosystems. Each of the park’s campsites is well maintained and equipped with a picnic table, steel fire ring, and wooden box privy.
