Point Farms Provincial Park turns 50 this Saturday! Swing by the park on August 15 to join the celebrations!
Here’s how the festivities will unroll:
10:00 AM — 12:00 PM: Guided Hike
This hike will begin at the Park Office and follow the Ravine Trail to the beach, finishing with the Old Farms trail loop. This hike will be led by the Maitland Trail Association.

10:00 AM —10:45 AM: Guided Hike with Naturalist
Humans have introduced many changes to Point Farms ecosystems, including non-native plants and animals. Find out how they got here, why they’re a problem, and what you can do to stop their spread. Meet a naturalist for a tour of the aliens on The Old Farms Trail. This hike will begin at the Playfield located off the Colborne additional parking lot.
11:00 AM — 12:00 PM: Children’s Program “Archeology Adventure”
Come learn about Point Farms archaeological history and the story of how glaciers have shaped this park. Then, learn some techniques modern Archaeologists use to dig up artifacts. Be prepared to dig! This activity will be taking place on the beach.

1:00 PM — 2:00 PM: Ask the Naturalist
Point Farms Naturalist Challenge! Visit each of the naturalist tables at the Playfield, located off the Colborne additional parking lot, between 1:00 and 2:00 PM and complete your question sheet for a prize! All answers can be picked up from what the naturalist have to say!
2:00 PM — Cake
Join us for cake at the Park Office, and check out old pictures and the history of Point Farms.
