We’re thrilled to announce that a new reservation system is in the works!
Here are just a few of the features we think you’ll love:
1. All car campsites will be reservable
Currently, some provincial parks leave a small percentage of campsites available for customers who arrive without a reservation (i.e., first come, first served sites).
When our new service comes online, parks will no longer set aside “first come, first served” campsites — 100% of sites will be reservable in advance.
Our parks will continue to accommodate visitors who arrive at a park without a reservation, if campsites are still available.
We have heard overwhelmingly from our customers that they prefer to have a reservation, and know that their site is secured prior to arrival at our parks.
2. Get on the water faster
Our backcountry parks are going online!
Every backcountry park will offer either full reservation or advance registration. Advance registration means that campers can print out their permit two weeks before their trip.
We’re also updating the payment process for backcountry reservations to be consistent with the payment process for car camping reservations. Campers making a backcountry reservation will pay the full amount for their reservation at the time of booking, rather than paying a deposit at the time of booking and paying the remainder when they arrive at the park.
3. Cabins, yurts, cottages — all reservable online
When our new system comes online, all roofed accommodations will be bookable online.
Keep your eye out for some undiscovered gems!
4. Group campsites
Reservations for all group campsites will be available online.
Like car campsites, reservations can be made up to five months in advance of your arrival date.
5. Picnic shelters
Many parks have reservable picnic areas for group functions such as family reunions.
When our new reservation system launches, reservations for these facilities will be available online. Like campsites, reservations can be made up to five months in advance of your arrival date.
6. Dogs welcome in select roofed accommodations
We’re thrilled to announce that starting April 1, dogs will be welcome in select yurts and cabins across the Ontario Parks system!

7. eGift cards
The Ontario Parks gift certificates are going digital!
Electronic gift cards can be purchased online, registered to your customer account, and used to pay for reservations! The eGift Cards will be delivered immediately to the recipient’s email account.
8. Streamlined campsite check-in
Enter your details before you hit the road — your stop at the gatehouse will be much shorter, cutting down long lines.
9. A smoother mobile experience
Our new system is optimized to be clean and responsive on all smartphones, tablets and other devices.
10. Live chat
Need a hand booking your campsite? Our support team will be available by chat box!
We’ll be shutting our reservation system down for a week later this month. That’s when we’ll switch over to the new system.
