China Travel Channel Filming in Ontario Parks!

Ontario Parks is thrilled to be working with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership and Tourism Toronto to bring China Travel Channel to Ontario again this summer. Last year’s joint promotion included Algonquin Provincial Park. This year two families are travelling to Ontario.

As part of their Ontario tour, the WANG family will be visiting northern Ontario including Lake Superior Provincial Park (July 19/20). They will tour the Park and learn to set-up a tent and camp overnight (for their first time!), hike to the pictographs and experience paddling and an evening campfire complete with stories and S’mores! Naturally Superior Adventures is working with Ontario Parks on outfitting their stay. In eastern Ontario the CHEN/WANG family will be visiting Frontenac Provincial Park for the day (July 22) as part of their itinerary. They will learn to paddle, do some hiking and have a shore lunch with freshly caught fish.

Both families will be filmed as they travel throughout Ontario by China Travel Channel. They will produce at least two episodes for each of the two families. The episodes will be broadcast in the fall of 2010 and potentially re-broadcast in the spring of 2011 prior to the summer travel season. China Travel Channel is the only satellite travel & lifestyle channel in China; its audience reaches 350 million viewers in major cities in China! A blogger from will also be traveling with the families and profiling the trip for web visitors around the world during their tour. SINA reports that it has about 94.8 million registered users and more than 10 million active users engaged in their fee-based services. It is estimated that the site has about three billion page views every day.
