Summer’s drawing to a close, but there’s still time for a quick camping getaway!
We’ve got some beautiful sites available for the weekend, including several electrical sites in southern Ontario, and a lakeside cabin nestled in the boreal forest!

Southeastern Ontario
Rideau River Provincial Park

Rideau River is a great base for exploring Ottawa and the historic Rideau waterway. The park offers lots of opportunities for paddlers and boaters who want to explore. Visit this website and click on “Paddling Guide 14” for points of interest near the park, for example, a 7 km paddle up Kemptville Creek to the town of Kemptville.
Rideau River is 40 minutes from Ottawa and 1.5 hours from Kingston.
Lake St. Peter Provincial Park

Lake St. Peter is known for lake trout and bass. Rent a canoe or kayak, or hike the Lookout Trail. You can also spend the day at nearby Algonquin with your camping permit.
Lake St. Peter is 3 hours from Ottawa and Kingston.
Southwestern Ontario
Rondeau Provincial Park

Eleven beach accesses lead to 11 km of beautiful sandy beaches along the Lake Erie side of the Rondeau peninsula. The park also offers six hiking trails that will allow you to explore the world-renowned birding destination.
Rondeau is 3 hours from Toronto and 1.5 hours from London.
Earl Rowe Provincial Park

Enjoy daily programming, including free Learn to Fish lessons. Spend the day swimming, or explore the park’s hiking trails, including one paved trail for accessibility.
Earl Rowe is only 1.5 hours from Toronto, or 45 minutes from Barrie.

Driftwood Provincial Park

**Waterfront site alert!**
The cool, clear waters of the Ottawa River provide a relaxing way to spend the day. A sandy campers’ beach stretches the entire length of the Ottawa Campground adjacent to many of the campsites.
Couldn’t get into Algonquin? You can day-trip to Algonquin with your camping permit, which gives you free access to any provincial park. The Brent Access Point is only an hour away, and Achray Access Point is just over 2 hours away.
Driftwood is 2.5 hours north of Ottawa, and 1.5 hours east of North Bay.
Mikisew Provincial Park

There are three sand beaches for swimming located along Eagle Lake in Mikisew Provincial Park. The lake is also great for boating, paddling and fishing.
Mikisew is just over 3 hours away from Toronto and 2.5 hours from Sudbury.
Northeastern Ontario
René Brunelle Provincial Park

**Waterfront site alert!**
There are excellent paddling opportunities on Remi Lake, especially exploring the park’s undeveloped north shore, and the park rents canoes and kayaks.
This is an ecological region known as the Boreal Forest, often called the songbird nursery because so many nest here each summer. The four sandy beaches, shallow, clear water and buoyed areas are perfect for family swimming.
René Brunelle is less than 2 hours from Timmins.
Mississagi Provincial Park

If you’ve been to Mississagi, you know that it’s one of Ontario’s best kept secrets. The scenery is spectacular, thanks to the geology of the area, which forms a series of hills, ridges and cliffs, and valleys with sparkling blue lakes. Three beaches slope into the pleasant waters of Semiwite Lake and hikers will love the seven hiking trails with great views.
Mississagi is just over 3 hours west of Sudbury and 3 hours east of Sault Ste. Marie.
Northwestern Ontario
Rushing River Provincial Park

Talk about an easy getaway; this site comes with a trailer already set up for you!
The on-site travel trailer includes dinette, couch slide, screened in add-a-room, cook stove, fridge, air conditioner, heater, and two sinks with potable water.
Rushing River is 2.5 hours from Winnipeg.
Rainbow Falls Provincial Park — Rossport

**Waterfront site alert!**
You’ll want to stay all week when you see the waterfront sites available along the Lake Superior shoreline! Shake out the cobwebs with a hike along the Casque Isle Trail, or view the cascading waters as they plunge over the rock ledges of Rainbow Falls on their way to Lake Superior.
Rainbow Falls is 2.5 hours from Thunder Bay, and 5 hours from Sault Ste Marie (just follow the Lake Superior shoreline!).
