5 ways to help our staff this year

Our staff are working hard to ensure our visitors are having a safe and enjoyable time at Ontario Parks.

Here are a few ways you can do your part to maintain a smooth experience at our parks for all:

1. Be kind to our staff and each other

It’s been a challenging year, and we know how excited you are to escape into the natural beauty of our provincial parks!

Our staff are working hard to get you into the park as quickly as possible. If you run into longer lines or closed facilities, please be patient.

Our staff are working tirelessly to operate parks under challenging circumstances. Please treat them with respect and understanding.

2. Keep campsites tidy

We’ve seen an increase in trash left on campsites over the past few seasons.

Many parks have reached their capacity on weekends, and cleaning all those campsites between visitors is a tough job!

Before you hit the road, do a sweep of your campsite and make sure any garbage has been collected. Less time spent cleaning campsites allows for more time to focus on other important aspects of the park.

Remember to consider your fellow campers, and leave the site as you found it so they can enjoy themselves! Did you know that it is actually illegal to have or leave a messy campsite in a provincial park?

We are all stewards of our natural spaces.

3. Respect comfort station rules

Washroom etiquette is always appreciated, regardless of the season.

Please adhere to the posted instructions on washroom doors, giving fellow visitors plenty of space and time to use the facilities, and allow us the time to properly clean the bathrooms.

4. Temper your expectations

Parks are working to have as many services and facilities available for your visit as possible, however closures and delays do happen.

We want everyone to enjoy their visit to the park. To avoid disappointment, please visit your park’s online spaces, including alerts, and social media, to check for updates.

5. Share your appreciation with our staff

At the end of the day, we’re here to ensure all visitors have a safe and enjoyable time in parks. Seeing and hearing about your positive experience makes our day — please let our staff know you appreciate all their hard work.

If you’d like to tell us about a positive experience, but have already left the park, drop us a line on any of our social media pages or send us an email, and tell us what you enjoyed about your stay.
