Come fly a kite! Bring your own or assemble one supplied by Friends of Ferris. Suitable for all ages. Join us for our fundraising BBQ. Lots of parking and FREE entry to the event (for access to Ferris Provincial Park for any other reason, regular park day use fees apply). Donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to support Friends of Ferris initiatives within the park.

June is the height of the nesting season for birds in the park and they are all singing their hearts out. Join naturalist David Bree for a leisurely walk to see and hear our nesting feathered friends and why all the noise! $5 per person includes Peameal bacon on a bun, coffee and walk. |Dry Stone Wall Restoration & Demonstration - 10th Anniversary||August 25, 2018||August 26, 2018||Ferris Playground Field||
2018 will be the 10th Anniversary of the Dry Stone Wall Demonstration/Restoration Workshop in Ferris Provincial Park. This beginner’s course will cover important walling elements such as hearting, batter, through-stones, cheek ends, and various types of coping. Participants will learn the basic techniques of dry laid construction including stiles and various structural solutions to carry out sympathetic repair of historic stone walls. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Ferris.

The Friends of Ferris are pleased to welcome Dr. Christina Davy September to Ferris Provincial Park. Christina is a Species At Risk Research Scientist with MNRF. She has worked with bats for over 10 years. She is going to come and to tell us all about these amazing creatures. Come out to learn about what species we have in Ontario and how to identify them. She will also talk to us about the work she is doing looking into white nose syndrome, its effects on our bats and what we can do to help. Specifically she will show us examples of bat boxes and what we need to know if we are installing them at our homes. Regular park day use fees apply.
