Winter in the Wild February 17, 2018 February 17, 2018 Various locations along Hwy 60

Winter in Algonquin is unforgettable and Winter in the Wild highlights the best of what the season has to offer the whole family! Join Ontario Parks and The Friends of Algonquin Park to celebrate winter in Algonquin Park through this family event. Indoor and outdoor events will be held at various locations throughout the Highway 60 Corridor of the park, including many at the Visitor Centre. All of the activities during the festival are free with the purchase of a Daily Vehicle Permit or Camping Permit (with the exception of food). Events include guided bird walks, guest speakers, guided snowshoe excursions, skating, winter camping demos, marshmallow roasting and a special evening program. Chili lunch and BBQ supper will be available for purchase.

Loggers Day July 28, 2018 July 28, 2018 Algonquin Logging Museum

Join us for this highly entertaining and educational day when the Algonquin Logging Museum comes to life, brought to you by The Friends of Algonquin Park, the Algonquin Forestry Authority and Ontario Parks. Take in the demonstrations around the Logging Museum trail and try the old-timer loggers’ lunch served in the sawlog cookery from 12:00 to 2:00pm (or while quantities last). Event runs 10:00am-3:00pm.

Wakami Wailers Concert July 29, 2018 July 29, 2018 Algonquin Outdoor Theatre

The award winning Wakami Wailers are scheduled to play an open air concert at Algonquin Park’s Outdoor Theatre. Listen to the music of the Wakami Wailers. The Ontario-based Wakami Wailers will get your toes tapping through lively music sharing Canada’s logging history, park and protected areas, plus much more. Join the Wailers for a fun-filled evening of entertaining stories and songs from their popular releases - The Last of the White Pine Loggers, Waltz With the Woods, and River Through the Pines. This concert is brought to you by The Friends of Algonquin Park as one of summer’s Special Events. Admission to this event is a minimum donation of $2.00 per person. Concert begins at 7:00pm.

Meet the Researcher Day August 2, 2018 August 2, 2018 Algonquin East Beach Pavillion

Algonquin’s Wildlife Research Station invites you to spend time with researchers who use Algonquin Park as their laboratory. Meet those who study reptiles and amphibians, birds, small mammals, fish, wolves, and even humans (through archaeology). A fundraising barbecue (noon to 2:00pm, or while quantities last) is hosted by The Friends of Algonquin Park in support of research in the Park, and free draws take place for great prizes generously donated by local businesses and organizations. Suitable for all ages. Event runs 9:00AM- 3:00PM.

Haunted Halloween Weekend October 26, 2018 October 27, 2018 Mew Lake Campground

The fun begins on Friday night with Haunted Tales from the Camboose Shanty! On Saturday afternoon, join us at the Visitor Centre where a Park Naturalist will guide you through a collection of animal skeletons. Mew Lake Campground will feature pumpkin carving, campsite decorating and costume contests with awards given for many different categories!  Everyone is invited to participate in trick-or-treating among the campsites on Saturday night, and later, for a howling good time at the nearby Old Airfield with a wolf howl.
