Join us for this highly entertaining and educational day when the Algonquin Logging Museum comes to life, brought to you by The Friends of Algonquin Park, the Algonquin Forestry Authority and Ontario Parks. Take in the demonstrations around the Logging Museum trail and try the old-time loggers’ lunch served in the sawlog cookery from 12:00 to 2:00pm, or while quantities last ($10 per person). Event runs 10:00am-3:00pm. Admission to this event is a minimum donation of $2.00 per person. 

Wakami Wailers Concert July 28, 2019 July 28, 2019 Algonquin Outdoor Theatre

Get your toes tapping and your hands clapping with the Ontario-based, award-winning Wakami Wailers at their open-air concert. Enjoy the lively music and song about Canada`s logging history, our parks and protected areas, and more. This fun-filled evening of entertaining stories and songs from their popular releases - The Last of the White Pine Loggers, Waltz With the Woods, and River Through the Pines and their more recent, Un, Deux, Trois... Four. Admission is a minimum donation of $2.00 per person. Concert starts at 7:00pm. 

Meet the Researcher Day August 1, 2019 August 1, 2019 Algonquin East Beach Picnic Pavillion (km 35.4)

Algonquin’s Wildlife Research Station invites you to spend time with researchers who use Algonquin Park as their laboratory. Meet those who study reptiles and amphibians, birds, small mammals, fish, wolves, and even humans (through archaeology). A fundraising barbecue (noon to 2:00pm, or while quantities last) is hosted by The Friends of Algonquin Park in support of research in the Park, and free draws take place for great prizes generously donated by local businesses and organizations. Suitable for all ages. Event runs 9:00AM- 3:00PM.

Guided Walk - Cache Lake History August 10, 2019 August 10, 2019 Cache Lake Parking Lot, at km 23.5

10:00 am - Guided Walk - Cache Lake Historic Site Tour - All aboard! Join Chris and venture down part of Algonquin’s historic railway to the site of the former Highland Inn and explore how the Park's recreational activities have changed over time. Cache Lake Historic Site Exhibit (at km 23.5).

This hike is part of the province-wide celebration of 75 years of naturalist-led programs in Ontario Parks.
