Way to Go, Wasaga!

Soldiers from re-enactment of War of 1812Wasaga Beach Provincial Park has received an award from the local Chamber of Commerce, for its role in the annual historical re-enactment of battles of the War of 1812.

The Tourism Business of the Year award from the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce recognizes the efforts made by park staff, volunteers at the Nancy Island Historic Site, the Friends of Nancy Island and Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, the Town of Wasaga Beach and the Historic Military Establishment of Upper Canada.Re-enactment of battle from War of 1812

Together, they have helped make the region a tourism destination known for its hospitality and outstanding service. Kudos to all involved!

More than 5000 people visited the park during last year’s Wasaga Under Siege: A War of 1812 Remembrance and close to 500 people volunteered as soldiers and other personnel to re-enact battles during the three-day event.
