On September 7, 2009 CBC Radio Two launched its “Great Canadian Song Quest”. Canadians were asked to nominate places in the country that matter the most to them. Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, Grand Bend, Picton, Toronto and Algonquin Provincial Park were the top five locations voted as most memorable in Ontario.
Ontarians placed their votes and Canadian singer- songwriter Hawksely Workman was chosen to write a song about Algonquin Provincial Park.
