Take A Challenge… A Park Once Challenge

After a morning of driving you reach your favourite camping destination, the last thing you want to do is be trapped in a car any longer than you have to, so why not Park Once when you get to the park and get yourself out into the green scene, walk to the beach or park store.

This year, Ontario Parks has partnered with Wayfarer Insurance (a RV Insurance company), to initiate a Park Once challenge at Pinery, Long Point, Darlington, Sandbanks and Presqu’ile. Ontario Parks is encouraging users to park once and either walk or bike for the remainder of their stay. When you arrive at the participating parks, let the gate staff know you are interested in the challenge. Those interested in the challenge will be given a green ribbon to tie to your vehicle during your visit to show you are a Park Once participant.

Once you have completed the challenge you will have the opportunity to fill out a ballet to win a mountain bike, generously donated by Wayfarer Insurance. You will also receive a free pedometer with your ballot, compliments of ParticipACTION- this way you can count your steps as you walk/bike to park facilities and events. What more can you ask for!!

Not only are you preserving the environment by participating in this challenge, but you are also being active. Let’s not pollute the air with the noise and emissions from our vehicles, but rather enjoy the fresh air and sounds of the outdoors.

Show your support for Ontario Parks and the environment and Park Once!

Are you up for the challenge?
