Campsite vacancy highlights: June 30 – July 3

Many of our parks are already bursting at the seams for the busy Canada Day long weekend, BUT we’ve got the inside scoop for where you can still find a campsite (or even a cabin!).

Pro tip: Southern Ontario’s already fairly full, but if you’re willing to drive a little further, our northern parks have some beautiful sites available!

Summer star parties 2016

Humanity’s fascination with the celestial bodies dates back millennia.

And times haven’t changed.

Camper families love stargazing especially from mid-July to late August during the Perseid meteor shower. At peak time (August 9-13, 2016) — if the skies are clear — you can see up to 50-100 meteors an hour!

Star parties are held in our parks every summer, especially in Northern Ontario, where there’s less light pollution.

Campsite vacancy highlights: June 3-5

It’s the first weekend of June — let’s go camping!

Spring is a great time to score your perfect campsite. Across Ontario, most parks still have a good selection of sites available for the weekend, for tent and RV campers alike!

Soundscapes from across Ontario

 One of my favourite signs is from a lookout over the Grand Canyon.  It simply says,

ONE MINUTE.
DON’T READ.
DON’T TALK.
NO PHOTOS.
JUST LOOK…..AND SEE.
It is something that I hope you will do often when you visit our parks or other natural areas in Ontario.  But how about this variation?
