Introducing our new park crests!

As part of 2018’s OP125 celebrations, we designed a brand new set of park crests — and they’re hitting the shelves this summer!

A unique crest for each park

For instance, Killbear’s crest includes its iconic pine, a black bear, the rocky shoreline and a Georgian Bay sunset

Each park with a retail outlet (84 parks in all) has its own design, reflecting the park’s identity.

Designer Ulla Clark and Ontario Parks Marketing Specialist Joasia Pyrz collaborated with staff from all over the province to create a special design for each provincial park.

We loved seeing the final designs come through, picking out the little nuances in our favourites.

Now that the entire set is ready, it’s fun to gaze at them side by side.

Meet the designer
Ulla at work

Ulla Clark has collaborated with Ontario Parks since 2015, designing their collections of park goods and now their latest Ontario Parks Crest project. She has been working as a screen printer and freelance designer and illustrator since 2006 for LUprints.

Ulla was educated and worked in forestry before changing professions, and has a deep love of nature and the environment — and it shows in her work!

Ulla with her family

Ulla spends as much time as possible outdoors, camping and exploring with her husband, a wildland firefighter, and their two daughters. She’s keen to pass on her family’s love of nature and how important it is to preserve it for future generations through provincial and national parks.

“Working on this crest project with Ontario Parks has been a highlight of my career as a designer,” says Ulla. She hopes everyone enjoys collecting them through their Ontario Parks Passports!

What’s the new passport program all about?

Passport Image

New in 2019, we’re introducing the Ontario Parks Passport!

Crests will be available as stickers and can be added to your Passport — the perfect way to track your progress through Ontario Parks.

Passports will be available for purchase in park stores.

Questions about the new crests:

Are they available online?

Not at this time. We encourage everyone to pick up their crests as souvenirs from the parks they visit.

Are the crests available as stickers or on other products?

Yes! Every park will have a slightly different selection, but crests will be available as embroidered patches and stickers, as well as on sweatshirts, ball caps, toques and buffs.

Will every park have crests / merchandise in stock? What happens if you run out?

Each park orders its own supply of crests and crested products. We’ll do our best to make sure they’re available when you visit.

So tell us: which one is your favourite?
