Ontario Parks gets smart!

When you visit Ontario Parks this season, be on the lookout! You may just spot our new little — and we mean little — vehicle. It’s a “smart fortwo” coupe, from Ontario Parks’ newest corporate partner, Mercedes-Benz of Canada.

Picture of Smart carYou won’t have any trouble recognizing it. It’s wrapped in an image of Lake Superior Provincial Park. It also has Ontario Parks logos on its doors, and our web address on the rear bumper.

The “smart fortwo” coupe fits right in with Ontario Parks’ commitment to be as green as we can be. It gets great mileage, uses a fraction of the fuel it takes to fill other vehicles and is practical for enforcement patrol and transporting Natural Heritage Education staff and equipment to various sites.

If you were at the recent opening of the new trail at Mashkinonje Provincial Park, you may have spotted it there. You can also see it at:

  • Emily Provincial Park — May 19-22
  • MacGregor Point — May 26-31
  • Pinery in June
  • Wasaga Beach in July
  • Algonquin in August
  • Killbear in September and
  • Sandbanks in October
