“Ticks that carry Lyme Disease are in Ontario, and you need to know how to stay safe and not get bit. Take some good advice from the Bug Guy, Curtis Russell, PHD, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care’s tick expert.
The ticks that carry Lyme Disease are being found outside of their traditional areas. These black-legged ticks (also known as deer ticks) attach to birds which migrate from place to place, bringing this health risk. While Lyme disease is easily treated when detected early, it can have serious and permanent health consequences if left untreated.
