Book your Prince Edward County getaway at Sandbanks’ Maple Rest Heritage House!

Built in the 1870s, Maple Rest is nestled within the dunes beach area of Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County.  It is available for reservation throughout the year and perfect for your next getaway.  Here are some of the features we think you will enjoy:

1.  Victorian Charm

Maple Rest is a unique Victorian home with lots of charm.  The home has been completely restored and furnished with antiques and reproductions to create a unique experience for guests.  You will feel transported to a different time and place-but with the convenience of many modern luxuries still available!

2.  Bring your friends!

The home sleeps eight in its four bedrooms with four double beds (linens provided) each with its own bathroom- so no waiting in line for the bathroom in the morning!  There is also a fifth bathroom which includes laundry facilities.

In the past, this facility has hosted weddings, rehearsal dinners, scrapbooking weekends, girls’ getaway weekends and corporate events.  Your event could be next!

3.  Relax

There is a reason this property has been called Maple Rest.  For over a century, people have enjoyed the benefits of relaxation here under the shade trees.  Pour yourself a coffee or tea and relax in the large sunroom.  This room provides beautiful panoramas of the property while the upper deck provides a fantastic close up view of the West Lake Dunes.  In the evening, roast marshmallows around the campfire!

4.  Fully-equipped kitchen

This kitchen is equipped with all of the essentials including full size fridge and stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, cookware, and cutlery and dishes for eight.  You will be able to cook as much (or little) as you like.  There’s even a gas fireplace to add to the ambiance!

5.  Just a walk to the beach

Beach and day use facilities are within walking distance of Maple Rest meaning you are never more than a short walk to a beach considered one of the best in Canada! Easy access to the Dunes Beach – a day-use beach, removed from campgrounds.   It is like your very own beach come sun down – an excellent spot for star gazing.  Just bring head lamps/ flashlights to guide your way.

Sandbanks is just as beautiful in winter as summer!

6.  Great place to stay and explore Prince Edward County!

Maple Rest’s location makes it a perfect base to explore the county including:
