Park Advisories

As of July 9th, 2018 the City of Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue Service has issued a city wide burn ban as a result of the extreme temperatures and dangerously dry conditions.  As a result, Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park has also imposed a complete fire ban for the park which includes the use of open fires for cooking and warmth. For cooking, a portable stove that is designed to use liquid or gas as a fuel, and the flame can be extinguished by closing a fuel control valve or shutting off a switch are permitted.
The current long range forecast does not have any precipitation and lifting the ban will be dependent on weather conditions offering significant precipitation. For updates on Current Fire Conditions, please contact 1-888-822-2225 ext. 8 or contact park staff at (705)454-3324 ext. 0.
