It's Canada Day weekend! To celebrate, come discover Canada with the NHE staff through fun activities and crafts. Meet them at the Amphitheatre at 7:00pm.

Time Flies When You're a Bird July 1, 2018 July 1, 2018 Slab Lake Field @10:30am What came first the robin or the egg? While we unfortunately can't answer that question, we will answer tons more during this awesome interactive program on the life-cycles of birds! Our NHE team will take you through the life of a bird with fun activities! So leave the nest for a little and fly on down to Slab Lake Field for 10:30am!

You may not always get to see animals in the park, but they're out there! Join us at the Discovery Drop-in at 10:30 am at Slab Lake and we will set you up to explore, observe and discover the variety of signs wildlife leave behind. Who knows what you might find!

The NHE staff wants you to have your very own Nature Journal for when you are discovering the park and observing the different land formations and living things that call Kettle Lakes home. Explore a trail using your senses- who knows what exciting things you will discover! Lace up your hiking shoes and come to the Discovery Drop-in to pick up tips and tools for exploring Wintergreen Trail at your own pace. We will see you there at 2:30 pm at the Oh-Say-Yah-Wah-Kaw Trail Head.

We invite you to meet us for an Art in the Park session at  Island Lake at 7:00pm. Take a meditative moment in nature, relax and connect with an inspiring special place in the park. We will have the tools for you to put your inspiration on an array of mediums. You do not need to be an artist to participant! We welcome all ages and encourage adults to join the experience.

Let’s go on a good old-fashioned hike with the NHE staff to explore Kettle trail at 10:30am! We will be able to see some of the beauty that Kettle Lakes has to offer and talk about a little history on Ontario Parks and how Kettle Lakes came to be.Make sure to wear proper footwear and bring water to stay hydrated!

This year however we have Ghosts from across Ontario coming out to teach us a little bit more about the rich history of Ontario Parks.  This trip through the past in not for the weak and light hearted!
