Spring is in sight!

With Spring comes the return of tens of thousands of ducks, geese and swans to Presqu’ile Bay - one of the greatest natural areas for birders on the north shore of Lake Ontario. Presqu’ile Provincial Park offers easy access to viewing stations to view up to 25 different species of waterfowl that arrive each spring to rest and feed here before moving on to nesting areas further north and west.

Scheduled activities and spotting scopes with volunteer birders to assist are available from 10 am to 4 pm daily. The Nature Centre will feature children’s activities and crafts, duck displays, and taxidermy and art displays. The Lighthouse Centre will feature Photography and Art displays. Of course the Friend’s Gift Shop will be open. Stop by and plan on entering our spring raffle for great Bushnell optics. The Friends will also host a BBQ where lunch, hot drinks and snacks can be purchased starting at 11 am. The Lighthouse Centre is also the location of the indoor washroom facilities, an attraction in its own right on a cold March day.

The event has been sponsored by The Friends of Presqu’ile Provincial Park for the past 43 years and counting! Make this spring event your tradition too - it makes a great outing to learn about and appreciate nature for children and adults alike.

Cost: a nominal $10.00/vehicle park entrance fee. Seasonal and Annual park passes also honoured for entry. Proceeds from this weekend will go towards The Friends’ projects in the Park. We hope to see you there.
