Q: When does the Quest begin and end? Are previous trip permits valid to use towards the Quest?

The Promotion begins on May 1, 2016 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on October 15, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Promotion Period”). (Official Rules - Section 3) No, only park permits issued during the eligibility period are valid for entry into the Quest.

Q:Are there any age or residency restrictions for the Quest?

A: The Ontario Parks Northwest Wilderness Quest Promotion (the “Promotion”) is open only to legal residents of the fifty United States (including the District of Columbia) and legal residents of all Canadian Provinces (excluding Quebec) and territories who are at least twenty-one years of age at the time of their initial participation in The Promotion. This promotion is void in Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and in other U.S. territories and possessions, as well as where prohibited by law. Employees of Ontario Parks as well as their immediate family (defined as their spouse, parents and step-parents, siblings and step-siblings, and children and step-children) and household members (defined as people who share the same residence at least three (3) months out of the year) are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. (Official Rules - Section 1)

Q: What if my wife and I paddle together for two legs of the Quest and then she and I take separate trips with other people for the third leg? Can each of us submit a Quest entry form?

A: No. You would have to decide which person in your household would be entered for a chance to win the Promotion’s draw prizes. Limit one (1) entry per household during the Promotion Period regardless of method of entry. (Official Rules - Section 4)

Q: What documents do I need to show to prove that I visited each park for each leg of the Quest?

A: On the Quest Entry Form, you need to identify your interior camping permit number for each park. Entrants will demonstrate proof of camping by providing their interior camping permit number (s) on the registration form. Entrants can submit completed registration forms after camping in each park or at any point in their 3-park experience during the Promotion period. Entrants are only eligible to win one Prize. (Official Rules - Section 4)

Q: Do I have to use the services of an outfitter to participate in the Quest?

A: No, you can outfit yourselves. We anticipate that the Quest will bring new people to paddling areas that they are unfamiliar with. Using the services of outfitter can provide many benefits and conveniences to your new adventure.

Q: Can I enter the Quest if I stay at one of the outpost camps or lodges in Wabakimi or Woodland Caribou Provincial Parks?

A: No. Being accommodated at an outpost camp or lodge does not qualify for the Quest. In order to be eligible to enter the Quest, entrants will demonstrate proof of camping by providing their interior camping permit number(s) on the registration form. Entrants can submit completed registration forms after camping in each park or at any point in their 3- park experience during the Promotion period. Entrants are only eligible to win one Prize. (Official Rules - Section 4)

Q: If there is only one entry per household, does it have to be the same paddler every time?

A: Yes. Only one entry per eligible participant/household will be placed in the draw and be eligible to win one of the grand prizes. Limit one (1) entry per household during the Promotion Period regardless of method of entry. (Official Rules - Section 4) However, each person in a household can complete the Quest Entry Form to receive the Quest reward souvenir.

Q: What incentives are there to complete the Quest trips?

A: In addition to personal satisfaction and a sense of exploration and achievement, at the end of the Promotion period there will be a draw for prizes including a Souris River “Quest” Canoe and one of four “Quest” XY Company paddles. Limit one (1) entry per household during the Promotion Period regardless of method of entry. (Official Rules - Section 4)
