What You'll Like:
Michipicoten Island Provincial Park is located in the eastern portion of Lake Superior. The Island consists mostly of intrusive rocks and lava flows, however contains interior lakes, sand beaches and sugar maple forests. Woodland Caribou were introduced to the Island in the early 1980s and the beaver population on the Island is considered to be one of the highest in the area.
Location: 175 kilometres northwest of Sault Ste. Marie and 65 kilometres southwest of Wawa.
Park Facilities: There are no visitor facilities available. Hunting is prohibited.
