Learn to Fish at Ontario Parks!

Reel in the fun by complementing your first camping experience with one of our hands-on Learn to Fish programs.

The Learn to Fish program is a great opportunity to learn everything you need to know to have a safe and fun fishing experience. The program will help you get started; whether you want to take up a new hobby or help your children or grandchildren catch their first fish, you can make new memories and enjoy nature.

Over two hours you will learn about fishing in Ontario and you might even catch one yourself!

Every Learn to Fish program includes:

  • Approximately 1 hour of dry land learning where you will learn about:
    • Fish identification and anatomy
    • Rigging and casting a fishing rod
    • Fish handling
    • Fishing rules and regulations
    • Fishing safety

  • Approximately 1 hour of practice fishing time; we provide the equipment and promotional fishing licences!

Learn to Fish programs are available at the following locations:

  • Darlington Provincial Park
  • Earl Rowe Provincial Park
  • Emily Provincial Park
  • Grundy Lake Provincial Park
  • Sibbald Point Provincial Park
  • Six Mile Lake Provincial Park

Participants in the Learn to Camp program at the above locations will have an opportunity to take part in a Learn to Fish program at no extra cost.
