Mikisew
Caractéristiques naturelles

Mikisew (the Ojibwa word for "eagle") sits along Eagle Lake. Geologists have concluded that more than 10,000 years ago, the area around Mikisew was an island and two beaches surrounded by the waters of ancient Lake Algonquin. Today, children build sandcastles on the three fine beaches left behind by the ancient glacial lake.

Many types of birds, and small mammals such as chipmunks, squirrels and raccoons live in the park. Pine, birch, maple, hemlock and cedar make up the second-growth, boreal forest.
