Hiking
Lookout Tower Trail 3 km (1 hour) moderate
From the campground, this trail winds through a forest, around a beaver pond on a boardwalk and over a jackpine ridge.

Fishing
Depending on the time of year, anglers will enjoy good catches of lake trout, northern pike and whitefish and smallmouth bass.
More information on fishing.

Canoeing
Aptly named Windy Lake is good for canoeing, but stay close to shore as the lake can quickly become choppy.

Boating
Sailing, motorboating, windsurfing, water-skiing and canoeing are all popular activities on Windy Lake. A boat launch is located at the mouth of Windy Creek. A short boat ride to the south end of the lake reaches a trail that leads to an old fire tower, unfortunately the tower is not available for climbing and viewing from.

Swimming
The park's two beaches total more than 1,500 metres of sandy shore and gently sloped swimming areas buoyed for safety.

Winter Activities
Cross-country skiers can explore 20 km of groomed trails ranging in difficulty from easy to challenging. Skiers can warm up at a ski chalet. Windy Lake is the site of an annual 160-km cross-country marathon called a loppet.

Other - There is a playground for children.
