White Lake Provincial Park is a Natural Environment park located on the shores of White Lake. The lake is unique in the area as it lies in a sandy basin within the rugged Canadian Shield. Situated inland from the cool shores of Lake Superior, the beaches and warmer climate are ideal for family recreation.
Lying on the vast mineral-rich Canadian Shield, this park is close to the famous Hemlo gold fields. The varied geography of the Canadian Shield is well represented within the boundaries of the park by the White Lake shoreline, several smaller lakes and bogs. The park is found within the boreal forest ecosystem and therefore has extensive stands of jack pine, spruce, poplar and birch. Shrubs, mosses and wildflowers including several species of orchids carpet the forest floor.

Wildlife is abundant in these varied habitats. Moose, fox, porcupine and beaver are often spotted by park visitors. Loons, osprey, bald eagles and great blue herons fish the waters, while owls, ruffed grouse, woodpeckers and many songbirds find food and shelter in the forests. Anglers will find that the fish species inhabiting the waters are just as plentiful. Walleye, northern pike, perch and whitefish seem ever ready to bite.
