Provincial Parks with Boil Water Advisories

Fact Sheet on water advisories
The local Medical Officer of Health has issued a "boil water advisory" for the provincial parks listed below, as a precaution, because there may be Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium organisms in the surface water in these areas or there have been occurrences of high turbidity.

In some parks only one building or a portion of the park is posted with a boil water advisory, while in other
situations the entire park has been posted. The exceptions are noted in the list below.

The advisory states that drinking water is to be boiled for a minimum of five minutes. While all water supply systems in provincial parks are chlorinated there are parks that do not have the type of filtration system required to remove turbidity, or the Giardia lambia and Cryptosporidium organisms. Chlorine will not kill Giardia lambia and Cryptosporidium.

To check if a park has a boil water order, please refer to the Park Alerts page.
