Fresh Ontario maple syrup begins flowing at Bronte Creek Provincial Park on Saturday, March 6 when the park's month-long Maple Syrup Festival gets underway.
“We're anticipating another great turnout for this year's festival,” said Festival Organizer, Jen Morel. “This is our seventh year and it's shaping up to be our best year ever. We've been busy over the winter months gathering information and articles for a new attraction , a Maple Syrup Museum; and making improvements to the gift shop.”
The maple syrup festivities are open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekends during March and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily throughout March Break (March 15 to 19). Visitors can choose from a wide variety of festival activities. Here's a sample:
General admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for youths (aged 4 to 17 years). Children 3 years and under are admitted free.
Extra charges apply for purchases in the gift shop, fresh maple candy and meals: $3.00 for the small meal (two pancakes) and $5.00 for the large meal (three pancakes). Pancake meals include hot, fresh pancakes, crisp bacon, and a drink.
Bronte Creek Provincial Park is located one kilometre north of the QEW on Burloak Drive, between Oakville and Burlington (Exit 109).
