Park staff offer an extensive natural heritage education program
throughout the camping season. Regularly scheduled events include
children's programs, evening programs, guided hikes, campfires,
tours of the turn-of-the-century mica mine and historic buildings
and special events.
Silver Queen Mine, which operated between 1903 and 1920, is open
during guided tours. You can see exposed mica and other minerals
and find out more about the life of a miner at the turn of the century.
An interpretive trail guide, available at the beginning of the trail
leading to the mine, tells the mine's story.
