Algonquin Provincial Park Cottagers Toolkit

Welcome to the online cottagers toolkit. Within the toolkit you will find a variety of material to help you understand the approved Algonquin Provincial Park Cottage Lot Policy (2018-2038) and the approved Algonquin Provincial Park Management Plan Amendment. You can view both of these by clicking on the appropriate link to the right.

The amendment contains a revised Appendix A (Construction and Development Standards) which will guide Ontario Parks in the review and approval of proposed construction and development activities on the cottage lot. The amendment also provides total footprint limits that will apply to eligibility requirements for certain types of structures.

Within the “Factsheets, Primers and Best Management Practices” section you will find a number of factsheets and other information that will assist cottagers in understanding the policy and management plan amendment, meeting eligibility requirements, and in making their cottage lots more environmentally friendly. Ontario Parks will be continuing to add new content and resources to the toolkit as they become available. Please check back often.
