This phenomenally rich environment sustains 33 mammal species, including Canada's only marsupial -- the opossum. Approximately 134 of the 334 bird species recorded in the park nest here, among them the endangered Prothonotary Warbler. Careful observers can catch a glimpse of Skinks, Fox Snakes, and nesting Snapping Turtles. An abundance of plants for the botanist can be found throughout the park, from the Dunes and Savannah, to the Forest and Marsh.
