Natural Features

There are no fewer than 34 distinct forest communities in this area, including white pine, sugar maple, poplar, and white birch. Hikers may also encounter wet meadows and shoreland habitat.

Park Facilities and Activities

There are no visitors' facilities. Whitewater canoeing is possible in spring.

Location: Adjacent to Algonquin Provincial Park, 87 km northeast of Bancroft. The river can be accessed from Highway 60 west of Madawaska and the Shall Lake access point of Algonquin (north of Victoria Lake).
