Education
During the summer, park staff evening programs, guided hikes, children's crafts and programs. Watch park activity boards for event schedules.

Fishing
Fish for pike, small mouth bass and lake trout on Halfway Lake. Try your luck in the smaller lakes and creeks in the park's interior and accessible only by canoe. The Park Store sells live bait.

Canoeing
Explore the park's remote interior by canoe along short, connected routes that loop back to Halfway Lake. Take your tent and camp at one of 20 interior campsites along these routes. Don't forget a map featuring routes and portages.

Wildlife Viewing
Dusk is the best time to spot moose near wetlands and lakes. Ninety species of birds have been identified at Halfway. Watch for the great blue heron, which returns every year to raise its young in a heron rookery at the south end of Bailey Lake. Osprey and bald eagles also nest in the park.

Boating
Although small motorboats are allowed on three lakes, canoes are preferred for water travel. Well maintained portages make it easy to move from one lake to another.

Swimming
There is good swimming at a sandy beach near the campgrounds and at many other spots on interior lakes.

Winter Activities
Closed in winter but accessible on foot, the park is popular with snowshoers.
