A wild and beautiful park, lined with massive granite outcroppings, boreal forests, and far-northern muskeg, the Missinaibi runs north through a wilderness that sustains moose, bear, lynx, marten and wolf.

A trade route since ancient times, the river park is known for its store of rock paintings. The people who inhabited the area, as early as 1000 BC, left an astonishing assortment of paintings, which today make up the largest and most significant collection in northeastern Ontario.
