Backcountry
Ten backcountry campsites are accessible only by canoe These private,
secluded sites on the lakes each have a tent pad, fireplace and
a box toilet. They are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Education
Park staff offer guided hikes, evening talks, children's programs
and recreational skills programs. Watch park postings for event
dates.
Fishing
Each lake in the park yields different fish:
Clear Lake -- bass, northern pike and
panfish
Grundy Lake -- walleye, northern pike,
crappie, panfish and bass
Gurd Lake -- walleye, northern pike,
panfish, brown bullhead and bass
Gut Lake -- northern pike, bass, crappie
and panfish.

Canoeing
Retrace the journeys of the fur-trading voyageurs along the extensive
network of interconnecting waterways inside and outside the park.
(Canoe routes outside the park are not maintained.)

Wildlife Viewing
Deer and moose are common in the park, and smaller mammals such
as muskrat, raccoon, mink, fox and beaver are often spotted. More
than 160 species of birds have been identified near Grundy Lake,
especially in the marsh areas. Heron nests are found in at least
two areas close to campgrounds.
Boating - Power boats are prohibited
in the park.
Swimming
The park has three swimming areas -- at Clear Lake, Grundy Lake
and Gurd Lake.
Hunting
Hunting in this park is subject to the Ontario Hunting Regulations. Certain restrictions apply. For more information, contact the park or your local area or district office of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Other - Borrow sports equipment from the
Park Office and enjoy a horseshoe pit, a multi-use sports field
and beach volleyball.
