Fishing
For the best fishing, cast your line at the park dock, along the shoreline or near Butternut Island where the Ottawa and Carp rivers meet. Small mouth bass, yellow perch, pumpkinseed, walleye, pike and catfish are the most common species.
More information on fishing.

Canoeing
Canoe on the Ottawa River or along the smaller Carp River.

Wildlife Viewing
The forest is home to birds such as killdeer, flickers, warblers, goldfinches, black birds, robins and sparrows. Keep your eyes open for raccoon, chipmunks, rabbits and white-tailed deer, too.

Boating - There is a boat launch on the Ottawa River.

Swimming - Swim at one of two beaches on the Ottawa River.

Winter Activities
The park is open on a day-use basis for cross-country skiing.
