Set in the rural greenery of Durham region in southern Ontario,
Darlington occupies former pioneer farmland on the shores of Lake
Ontario. The warm, shallow waters of McLaughlan Bay, on the west
side of the park, are separated from the colder depths of Lake Ontario
by a barrier beach. These waters, combined with the parks gently
rolling terrain, provide habitat for a wide variety of waterfowl
and wildlife.
